Thankfully, smaller specialty grills are becoming less expensive, as more manufacturers design new grills to fit in non-traditional spaces. The Dyna-Glo DGP350SNP-D Smart Space Living 2-burner grill is a perfect example of both of these trends.
Not as heavy or solid as a full-size grill, Dyna-Glo’s smaller grill is designed for apartment living, small patios and anywhere that a full-size grill is too large to fit. The grill also weighs in at less than a hundred pounds, and includes four locking casters, making it easy to move around.
This grill doesn’t come with a bunch of bells and whistles, but it does house a full-sized gas tank. It is a basic grill that can get the job done and be kept in a smaller space for a reasonable amount of money.

Out of the Box
Although this grill is marketed for small spaces, the box it comes in is hefty. Topping the scales at 115 pounds, it needs two people to unpack it. It does not come assembled, but is not difficult for anyone with a minimum of experience to put together. The grill is well-packed to prevent shipping damage.
The grill does not come assembled, but the learning curve to put all of the pieces together – in the proper order – is easily accomplished. The only tool necessary is a Phillips-head screwdriver. As most grills of this type, the stand needs to be assembled, the cooking grill attached, and then the burners and grates are installed. Mistakes in assembly can be easily fixed and the instructions are laid out so that finding and fixing any errors happens before the consumer goes to the next step.
Dyna-Glo DGP350SNP-D Performance
Here is where the Dyna-Glo Smart Space Living 2-burner grill really shines. This grill is well-built and solid. The burners and electronic ignition are top-notch and made for a great grilling experience. You can get better performance gas grills than the Dyna-Glo DGP350SNP-D, like the larger, more expensive Weber E330, but you will be paying a premium for the experience.
With 30,000 BTUs of heat and quality steel construction, this grill will heat up quickly and evenly. The cooking surface is surprisingly large and can handle most grilling tasks with ease. The only trivial problem with performance is that the built-in thermometer isn’t very accurate. Normally this isn’t an issue, but where cooking temperature is important you might want to get a separate cooking thermometer.
Holding the smaller grills to the same performance standard as full-size grills will always be disappointing. Full-size grills have the internal volume to overcome other design compromises or shortcuts. Smaller grills have to get it right in a lot of areas in order to ensure they deliver a solid grilling experience. There are only so many features you can pack into a smaller grill and, once you factor in cost, it becomes more frustrating to compare this grill with the full-size grills with extra features.
You can get a better grill, with the same footprint, but it is going to cost a lot more money. The price point of the Dyna-Glo keeps it well in the range of affordability. Its ease of use make it a solid alternative to a full-size grill.
Having said that, it’s a fairly well-built, small grill that won’t take up massive amounts of space on your patio or deck that will last for years of normal use with only basic upkeep. Pay attention to the heat tents, there have been reports of them rusting after two years, so keeping the grill maintained would be a wise investment of time. Comparing this grill with other smaller, space-saving gas grills highlights the value of this grill.
The Dyna-Glo Smart Space Living 2-burner grill is a very good patio gas grill. It delivers the premium cooking experience of its larger brethren at a good price.
